Most recreational vehicles come fully equipped from the manufacturer,
but you may wish to obtain a few practical items and accessories before
you set out on your RV camping expedition! Among the items to
consider are a basic tool kit, a 25' or 50' plastic garden hose rated
for drinking water, a 15' or 20' sewer hose with the necessary connectors,
a quick-connect appliance and a water pressure regulator for campsite
water hookups, 50 amp to 30 amp and 30 amp to 20 amp electrical plug
adapters for campsite electrical hookups, and a spirit level for ensuring
your RV is "on-the-level" at the campsite.
Other items you may wish to purchase are an outdoor extension cord, a roll
of duct tape, and some ridged shelf liner to help items stay in place
while traveling. If you plan to travel on gravel or dirt roads,
you can pack your dishes and glassware in bubble wrap beforehand.
These are just some basic RV supplies, and you may want to obtain a few
other RV housekeeping items as well. For instance, you may wish to
bring along a pair of binoculars, a small folding table and chairs, and a
grill for outdoor cooking, as well as a plastic tablecloth and whisk broom
to tidy up those well-used campground picnic tables.
Many RV and camping supplies can be obtained at local grocery stores.
More specialized RV items, such as biodegradable toilet paper and storage
tank deodorizers, can be purchased at RV stores like Camping World.
